"Reducing the # of Stray Animals by Spaying & Neutering"

Q: What can be done to reduce the large number of stray dogs and cats in Edgefield County?

A: So simple -- SPAY and NEUTER.

In 6 years, 2 adult dogs and their litter of 6 puppies can produce 67,000 more dogs. In 7 years, 2 adult cats and their litter of 7 kittens can produce 420,000 more cats.

An appropriate age for this procedure would be 6 months old. A spayed or neutered animal is a much healthier and happier pet.
