Alumni Letter from Leonard Todd and Laurel Blossom

Dear All God's Creatures,

When Laurel and I first moved to Edgefield almost three years ago, I called Denise Holcomb to tell her that I was hoping to find a Jack Russell terrier to adopt. She assured me that she would alert me if one came in to the shelter. Within a short time, she telephoned me to say that I was in luck. I drove right out to All God's Creatures, but I saw no Jack Russell in sight. “There he is.” said Denise, indicating a scruffy yellow dog that was looking eagerly up at me. “That's a Jack Russell?” I said. “Absolutely!” she said, managing to convey complete conviction. It took three visits for me to convince myself that pure Jack Russell or simply scrappy terrier mix, this was the one, wonderful dog for me. I brought him home, named him “Abner,” and have loved him passionately ever since.
We came upon our cat, Flora, at Denise's booth at the Trenton Peach Festival two years ago. Remembering how long I took to make up my mind about Abner, Denise sweetly told me she would be happy for me to have the kitten as long it was today. In the face of this ultimatum, we made a speedy decision and have never regretted it.
Both Abner and Flora are splendid pets and friends. Because of our happy experience with them, I can wholeheartedly recommend the animals that Denise, Tara, and Beth offer at All God's Creatures. Give Denise a call!
